Abstract

This study aims to explain and describe the pattern of patron-client relationship between the owner of the ship, juragang and Ship's Men (ABK) and a revenue sharing system in the cruise Sailing Motor Surya Indah. Data collected by participant observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The data analysis is intended to simplify the data obtained so that the younger read and understood. The results showed that shipping activities from the planning stage such as borrowing a boat, determine the rights and obligations of borrowers in the shipping owners and sanctions provided if a violation is found. Furthermore, shipping activities continued with mustard and seek election to take charge of the commodity as well as in shipping. Once all the preparation is complete, then the process of shipping can be done. In the process of shipping, sailors looking for buyers of merchandise and returning home to the island of Labour. Profit-sharing system for the gob done by divided evenly. Before the results is done, all the expenditure during cruise and rental boats separated beforehand. Abstract

This study aimed to identify and describe the existence of agate traders in the courtyard of ex MTQ Kendari and strategy of agate traders in maintaining their business in the courtyard of ex MTQ Kendari. This study used the theory of Capital by Pierre Bourdieu and the method used Ethnography method with data collection was done through observation techniques and in-depth interview, meanwhile the selection of informant was using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative, data analysis was intended to simplify the data obtained into a form that was easier to read and interpret. The results showed that the existence of agate traders could be viewed by two aspects, namely the goods and services offered. As for the aspects of the goods offered by agate traders were selling agate, selling agate beads, selling ready-made agate ring and aspects of the services were offering services of agate crafts. While the strategy used by agate traders in the courtyard of the ex MTQ Kendari in maintaining their business was namely choosing a strategic location shanties, lowering the price of agate, establishing cooperation among agate traders, selling online, accepting agates’ orders and making contests / competitions of agate. Therefore, this study recommended to several parties such as for the traders; complied with applicable rules in carrying out their trade activities meanwhile for the government of Kendari; to regulate / control and determine agate trade area that would be easily to access by the buyer. Abstract

Karia tradition is regarded as the most important ceremony for girls in Muna when entering adulthood. In the implementation of this Karia tradition has many symbols in it that implies. However, the phenomenon is happening now, most people in Muna especially young women do not know the meaning contained in the Karia tradition. Therefore, this study aims to answer two problems, namely stages in Karia tradition and symbolic meaning tangible material and non-material in stages Karia tradition in society Muna. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. Data collected by participant observation, in-depth interviews with key informants and informant principal as well as through the documents related with the tradition of Karia. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitative comprising data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that the stages in the process of Karia tradition in Muna society consists of three stages, namely, the preparation phase, the implementation phase, and the final stage. In the preparation phase, the committee has been formed to prepare all needs, including oe kaalano sokaghombo, kaalano bhansano bhea. During the implementation phase, there are several processions, namely: kafoluku, kaghombo, kabhansule, kabhalengka, kabhindu, kafosampu, katandano wite, tarilinda, kabasano dhoa Salama, and kahapui and final stage tradi tion carried kafolantono Karia bhansa / kaghorono bhansa in the river. The symbols contained in Karia procession is divided into two, namely the form of material and non-material form. Meaning contained in the tradition of Karia both tangible material and non-material is purifying oneself for women and as one of the media in educating women associated with domestic life, community and country. Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the existence of transvestites in the midst of society and the reason they became transvestites in public Kendari. Data collected by direct observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The data analysis is intended to simplify the data obtained so that the younger read and understood. The results showed that, the existence of transvestites amongst the people of Kendari has been widely spreading in the community. Appointment of the existence of transvestites is marked with the number of transgender-transsexuals who cultivate a variety of professions such as transvestites who opened a beauty parlor, working as a singer, activist fighting for the rights of fellow transvestites and not a few of them are working as pimps and prostitutes. Feeling ostracized make-transvestite transsexual is more creative in maintaining life even negative work that was involved in the public eye. A variety of reasons that makes a man choose to be transsexual, among others, have the instinct of womanhood felt since childhood, environmental influences dominated by girls, early experience sex that resulted dependency, trauma such as broken relationship of love between men and women at the age of which resulted in the young man does not believe anymore to women as well as the increasingly harsh demands of life make them choose shortcuts to get the material. The causes of this is what makes a man choose to be transsexual. Keywords: existence, reason, transvestites

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the network of Islamic education in the Sultanate of Buton during the reign of Sultan Muhammad K. Kaimuddin. In addition, this study was also aimed to determine the factors that support public acceptance of the teachings application of Islam in the Sultanate of Buton during the reign of Sultan Muhammad K. Kaimuddin. The method used in this study was the historical method with a qualitative approach. Data collections techniques used were interviews, the study documentation through texts, literature study and observation. The results showed that: 1) a network of Islamic education in the Sultanate of Buton on 19th century had implemented an education system that integrates the local culture with the values ​​of the Qur'an based Sufism. The education system had been able to provide the ability for the Sultanate to build a political system, governance and security. Islamic education during the Sultanate still clearly visible on the implementation of the attitudes diversity of Buton society capable in integrating the noble values ​​of local with the noble values ​​of the Qur'an that are universal; 2) learning process that starts from the capital city of the Sultanate (the palace) and then spread to Kadie-Kadie onwards to barata region, which was a small kingdoms that had a structure of government and the community itself, take a long time and the process of distribution was quite long. Abstract

Kajian ini merupakan bentuk studi “before and after” atas keberadaan industrialisasi pertambangan di Kabupaten Konawe Selatan. Pendekatan kualitatif dalam konteks paradigma “Phenomenologi” digunakan untuk mengembangkan telaah-telaah kritis reflektif atas berbagai fenomena, realitas dan hiperealitas yang mengemuka di wilayah pertambangan, melalui instrumen pengamatan, wawancara mendalam (deep interview) dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Analisis data sejak awal berlangsung dikembangkan dengan pendekatan “hermeneutik phenomenologik” (Muhadjir, 2011; Neuman, 2013). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alam pedesaan di masa lalu adalah tak ubahnya seorang gadis cantik yang demikian elok dipandang mata. Namun ketika disorot dari sudut pandang filsafat materialisme Karl Marx, maka kini alam pedesaan tak mempesona lagi dan bahkan rongga hidung menjadi tersendat dan dada terasa sesak, ketika mendapat ciuman beracun dari kaum industriawan. Betapa tidak, satwa-satwa sebagai suatu realitas ekosistem telah digantikan oleh satwa-satwa baru, seperti peralatan raksasa penumbang pepohonan, penggali dan pengangkut tanah nikel serta mobil-mobil karyawan perusahaan yang lalulang seolah tak pernah berhenti dan tak kenal lelah dengan ekosistem khasnya tersendiri. Perkebunan dan persawahan, rumput laut, sumur-sumur dan sumber mata air yang menjadi andalan masyarakat selama ini, telah tertimpah malapetaka yang cukup dahsyat akibat dari penumbangan pohon-pohon raksasa dan galian tanah yang berlubang-lubang di sekitarnya. Sementara hasilnya hanya dinikmati oleh pemilik lahan. Kata kunci: industri, pertambangan dan sosial ekonomi

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to understand the aspiration, needs, and fishers’ willing in South Konawe the Province of Southeast Sulawesi in organizing and carrying out the daily social economic. The informants in this research consist of the fisherman community that spread on the areas by high gap of poverty. This research used the method of 'field research' were cored in participatory development approach (participatory development approach). Therefore, the process of data collection in the field was done through participatory action research, focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. The results showed some of the problems faced by fishermen that capital constraints in trying to develop the economy, low education levels and therefore contributes to improving the skills to develop businesses that occupied, government aid that has not lasted proportionally and professionally so tend not on target, and the use of budget funds are not "pro-poor" as manifestation of strategic economic policy each Local Government. Abstract

This survey aims to determine the extent of understanding and knowledge of the women and the poor people about the importance of their involvement in the development and their understanding of their rights to participate in development through Musrenbang, as well as their expectations about the next steps. This survey focused on women and the poor in Konawe as the sample and population who have been determined from several representative that representing several districts of UNDP work areas (5 districts). The survey results indicate several things, namely: a) the term "musrenbang" (development planning) is popular among women and the poor. They often follow it; b) less than half of women and poor people who know the importance of musrenbang; c) the majority of women and poor people approve musrenbang but not all of them to assess the programs that have been planned and implemented able to address the problems of women and the poor; d) mostly women and poor people are not satisfied with their participation in development. Abstract

This research studies the conflict between the society and government about the mastery and claim over the teak forest in forest areas of Kontu, Patu-Patu, Lasukara, and surrounding areas. This research was conducted in the Regency of Muna Southeast Sulawesi by using a qualitative approach with the ethnographic method. The finding of the research revealed that the the presence of conflict because of the attraction between the two interests with the society about the government's lack of clarity of the status of forest area. There were two interpretations that attract each other which about protected forest areas between the government and the society on behalf of indigenous groups. The government claimed that the mastery over Kontu forest area, Patu-Patu and its surroundings as a state based on formal law. While the communities that living around the forest claimed that forest areas were their heritage that based on unwritten customary law. Government in claiming an area utilized a wide variety of state power and equipment, while the indigenous groups rely solely on the strength of arguments that were historical, so there was no force that supports people to defend their rights.
